Dates: Friday and Saturday, February 10 - 11, 2006
The 2nd annual Alden Winterfest will be held Friday and Saturday, February 10 -
11, 2006 at various locations in the Village of Alden. Fun for all ages and
even something for your pets!
Some events require pre-registration (Events are free unless noted)
The following is a schedule of activities:
Friday, February 10, 2006
4pm - ? - Battle of the Bands (BILLIEBOB'S Family Billiards)($6 entry fee)
7 - 8pm - Glen Colton concert - high energy kids concert (Intermediate School)
7 - 10pm - Ice Skating and Bonfire(Town Park)
8pm - ? - Washers Game (Village Hall) (pre-registration suggested)
8pm - Play "Love Letters" (Beacon Café)
8:30pm - Guided Moonlight Cross Country Skiing (Joe Panza Nature Trail - Town
Park)(skis available)
All Day - chinese auction - tickets available to purchase and basket available
for viewing (drawings to be held at 10pm at the snowball dance on Saturday)

Snow sculpting contest (3 categories - residential, business, amateur team
judging will begin at 4pm)
8-11am - Pancake Breakfast (Alden Presbyterian Church) (Cost ?)
8am - 8pm - Art Show (Beacon Café)
9am - ? - Softball in the snow tournament (Town Park) pre-registration required
10am - pie baking contest (pies must be delivered to community center in town
park by 10am)(call for more details)
10am - 4pm - Antique/Flea Market (Village Hall)
? - Antique appraisals (Village Hall)
10am - 10pm - chinese auction (Village Hall)
10am - 4pm - Wee ones games (10 and under) (high school cafeteria)
10am - 4pm - cross country skiing (Joe Panza Nature Trail) skis available
10am - 4pm - snow shoeing (Town Park) snow shoes available
10am - 4pm - Igloo making demonstration
10am - 8pm - ice skating (town park)
10:30am - 5k race (registration begins at 9am @ high school)pre-registration
suggested - $12 if register prior to 2/8/06; $17 after 2/8/06.
12n - scavenger hunt - (pre-registration required)
12n - 3pm - dog sled demonstrations/pictures with dogs (town park)
12:30 - 4pm - snowmobile rides (town park)
1pm - chain saw carving (village park)
1 - 4pm - chili cook-off (Alden Automotive - pre-registration required - $20 +
gallon of chili)
1 - 5pm - Box races (town park) various age categories (best decorated and goes
the farthest)(town park)
1-5pm - family swim (high school)
2-4pm - pie eating contest (all age groups welcome)pre-registration suggested
(town park)
2-4pm - pie auction (pies from the pie baking contest)(town Park)
2-4pm - human dog sled races (town park)
2-5pm - euchre card tournament - pre-registration suggested ($5 per person)

2-3pm - best dressed pet contest (town Park)($5 per entry)
